Bajaj CNG Bike: New Details Revealed!

The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike has been spotted testing once again, and this time the spy shots reveal new details of its design and hardware. It seems that Bajaj is inching closer to the production model, as the test mule has been seen multiple times.

Although the spy shot is slightly blurry, it appears that Bajaj could equip the CNG bike with a projector headlight flanked by bulb indicators. This gives it a touch of modernity while keeping the production cost in check.

In terms of hardware, the test mule features telescopic front forks, a monoshock, a single front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. It is still uncertain whether this bike will come with ABS.

Design and Engine Details

Another angle of the spy shot reveals a horizontally laid-out engine. This design choice could be to accommodate the CNG tank, which is believed to sit right above the motor. While the engine capacity has not been revealed yet, Bajaj is targeting the 100-160cc segment in India.

In addition to the engine details, the bike is also equipped with handle guards, a headlight cowl, engine crash guards, and a grab-rail. These additions not only provide protection but also contribute to the visual mass of the relatively slim-looking commuter.

City-Focused Bike with CNG Capability

Bajaj, based in Chakan, has other products that cater to the rural market. However, the upcoming CNG bike seems to be aimed at meeting the needs of urban areas with a large availability of CNG pumps.

While this is a step towards a greener mode of transportation, it also raises concerns about the mileage and inconvenience of refueling during the monsoon season when riders may have to wait in long queues.

All these details will be revealed in the coming months, as Bajaj is likely to launch the CNG bike in June this year.
