BGIS 2024: The Ultimate BGMI Tournament with a 2₹ Crore Prize Pool

Introduction to BGIS 2024

BGIS 2024, an official BGMI event, is set to take place from April 4 to June 30. This highly anticipated tournament will see numerous teams competing for the prestigious trophy and a massive prize pool of ₹2 crore. The format and prize pool for this year’s event will remain the same as the 2023 edition, with one notable difference – the introduction of a 10-point scoring system.

The Seven Stages of BGIS 2024

The tournament will be hosted in seven stages, starting with “The Grind” from April 4 to 28. During this phase, 256 BGMI teams will be directly invited to compete in a qualifier. These teams will be divided into 16 groups, with 16 teams in each group. They will participate in a round-robin format, playing six matches each. The top 64 performing teams will then advance to the India Series.

Progression and Qualification

The progression from “The Grind” is as follows:

– 1st to 16th ranked teams: Round 4
– 17th to 32nd ranked teams: Round 3
– 33rd to 64th ranked teams: Round 2

The next stage is Round 1, which will take place from May 2 to 5. All registered teams will compete in the in-game qualifiers, and a total of 1024 teams will qualify for Round 1. These teams will be divided equally into 64 groups, with the top 7 from each group (448 teams in total) advancing to Round 2. Additionally, 32 teams from the overall standings will also move forward.

Round 2 will occur from May 9 to 12, with a total of 512 teams (480 from Round 1 and 32 from The Grind) competing. These teams will be divided into 32 groups and play three matches each. The top 7 from each group (224 teams in total) and 16 from the overall scoreboard will progress to the next stage.

Round 3 will take place from May 16 to 19, featuring 256 teams (240 from Round 2 and 16 from The Grind). These teams will be equally seeded into 16 groups and play six games each. The top three from each group (48 teams in total) will qualify for Round 4. Additionally, 16 other teams from the overall leaderboard will be selected for the wildcard entry phase.

Round 4 is scheduled for May 23 to 26. The top 48 teams from Round 3 and the top 16 teams from The Grind will compete against each other. After playing six matches each, the top 16 teams will advance to Semifinals Week 1, while the bottom 48 teams will move to the wildcard stage.

The Wildcard Entry phase will occur from May 30 to June 2, featuring 64 teams (16 from Round 3 and 48 from Round 4). These teams will compete in six matches each, with the top 16 advancing to Semifinals Week 1.

Semifinals and Grand Finals

Semifinals Week 1 will take place from June 6 to 9, with the top 16 teams from Round 4 and the Wildcard Entry competing. These 32 teams will be divided into four groups and play 12 matches each. The top eight teams from each group (32 teams in total) will qualify for the Grand Finals, while the remaining 24 teams will move on to Semifinals Week 2.

Semifinals Week 2 is scheduled for June 13 to 16, featuring 24 teams from the previous stage. These teams will play 16 matches, with the top eight earning spots in the Grand Finals. The remaining teams will be eliminated from the BGIS.

The three-day Grand Finals will take place from June 28 to 30, featuring the top 16 teams (eight each from Semifinals Week 1 and Week 2). These teams will compete across 18 matches to determine the ultimate winner. It is expected that the Grand Finals will be played offline.

BGMI has also announced a partnership with the popular IPL club Mumbai Indians ahead of the event, adding to the excitement surrounding BGIS 2024.
