Over the years, various top smartphone brands have introduced foldable phones to the market, including Samsung, Google, and Oppo. However, one notable absence has been Apple, who has been delaying its entry into the foldable smartphone market. Recent reports suggest that Apple has now fast-tracked its plans for developing foldable iPhones.
According to a report by The Information, Apple has been working on two different prototypes for foldable iPhones after several years of planning and research. These foldable iPhones are expected to feature a clamshell fold design, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Flip devices.
While the development of these foldable iPhones has begun, it is speculated that we may see the official launch in 2026, if not earlier ad same in case of Indian market. Apple is reportedly in talks with a supplier in Asia to source the necessary components for the two different-sized foldable iPhone models.
However, it is important to note that these foldable iPhones may be canceled if they do not meet Apple’s standards or requirements. The company has been planning to develop foldable iPhones since 2018 but faced various technical difficulties that put the project on hold. Now, with renewed interest in foldable devices, Apple may be considering a 7-inch foldable iPhone that brings something new to the market.
As of now, we can only wait for further updates or information regarding Apple’s plans. It’s worth mentioning that there were previous rumors about Apple shifting its focus from foldable iPhones to foldable iPads with 8-inch displays, but the status of those plans remains unclear.
Stay tuned as we continue to bring you the latest updates on Apple’s expected foldable devices and any other developments from the tech giant.
