The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the successor to the Himalayan 411, has recently had its specifications revealed. Let’s take a closer look at the areas where these two Himalayan models differ.
Himalayan 452 vs Himalayan 411
Design:
While the Himalayan 452 and the Himalayan 411 may appear similar at first glance, there are noticeable differences upon closer inspection. The new bike features a fuel tank that bulges outside on the edges, and the rider seat is slightly less scooped. Royal Enfield has also made changes to the transparent visor’s design.
Engine:
Powering the new Himalayan 452 is a Sherpa 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It delivers 40bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine represents Royal Enfield’s most modern offering yet. In contrast, the old Himalayan is equipped with a 411cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that produces 24.3bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm of peak torque at 4,000-4,500rpm, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The new Himalayan not only boasts a more modern engine but also offers greater power.
Hardware:
The Himalayan 452 features 43mm USD front forks and an offset monoshock with 200mm wheel travel at both ends. It is equipped with a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc with ABS. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in tubed 90/90 front and 140/80 rear tires from CEAT. On the other hand, the Himalayan 411 utilizes 41mm telescopic front forks with 200mm of wheel travel and a rear mono-shock with 180mm of wheel travel. It comes with 300mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes and rides on spoke wheels.
Features:
The Himalayan 452 boasts full LED illumination and a TFT console with smartphone connectivity, media controls, notifications, and navigation through Google Maps. Additionally, it includes a type C charging port. In comparison, the Himalayan 411 features halogen illumination, a USB charging port, LED taillight, semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and a Tripper Navigation system.
