In line with its commitment to cost-effectiveness, BYD offers a wide range of electric cars in India, catering to different segments. With plans to introduce new electric vehicles, BYD aims to expand its presence further in the country.

Recently, BYD trademarked the name Dolphin in India, hinting at a potential launch of this significant product. Dolphin is part of BYD’s Ocean lineup, which has gained worldwide influence through strategic expansion in key regions. With its new logo and upcoming models like Seagull and Seal, Dolphin is set to make waves in the Indian market.

Recognizing India’s price-sensitive market dynamics, BYD aims to establish a strong foothold. Currently, the most affordable BYD vehicle in India is the E6 MPV, priced at approximately Rs. 29 lakhs, while the Atto 3 eSUV starts at around Rs. 34 lakhs. With the Indian automotive sector displaying steady growth, BYD is eager to capitalize on the opportunities it presents.

Positioned below the Atto 3, Dolphin will compete with electric vehicles like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Citroen eC3 Aircross. The Dolphin measures 4,290 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, offering a spacious boot space of 345 liters, expandable to 1,310 liters with 60:40 split rear seats. Its rear-connected tail lights with distinctive LED signatures add to its conservative design.

The Dolphin impresses with its cutting-edge technology and features. Its multi-layered dashboard houses a large 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by keyless entry and start, a PM2.5 air filter, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, and an electronic parking brake. The interior boasts leatherette upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, and various attractive trim color options.
