The traffic police in Telangana have announced a limited-time discount on pending traffic challans from December 26 to January 10, 2024. This initiative aims to encourage individuals with pending challans against their vehicles to clear them via the e-challan website while the discount is available.
The discounts on traffic challans are categorized based on the type of vehicle. For instance, if an individual has to pay 1000 rupees, they will only be required to pay 25% of the amount, which is 250 rupees. Once the payment is made, the remaining amount will be automatically waived.
Here is a breakdown of the discounts proposed for each category of vehicle:
– Two-wheelers and autos: Pay 20% of the challan amount, and the remaining 80% will be waived.
– Push carts and petty vendors (39b cases): Pay 10% of the traffic challan, and the remaining 90% will be discounted or waived.
– Light motor vehicles (LMVs), cars, jeeps, and heavy vehicles: Pay 40% of the challan amount, and the remaining 60% will be waived.
– Road Transport Corporation (RTC) drivers: Pay 10% of the traffic challan, and the remaining 90% will be discounted or waived.
To avail the discounts, individuals need to follow these steps:
1. Log on to the Telangana traffic-integrated e-challan portal.
2. Enter your vehicle details as usual, and all the pending challans will be displayed.
3. Click on the “pay” button, which will redirect you to the payment portal.
4. Pay only the discounted amount mentioned based on the type and model of your vehicle.
Please note that the sum total of pending traffic challans will be displayed as usual, and the discount amount will be available depending on the category of your vehicle.
