Dplus KIA, formerly known as Damwon Gaming, has announced the departure of two prominent PUBG Mobile players, Favian and Forest. The athletes had been an integral part of the team for over two years. Following the team’s disappointing performance in the Global Championship 2023, the South Korean club has made several changes to their lineup in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season.
On January 15, 2024, Dplus KIA revealed that the contracts with Favian and Forest had expired and thanked them for their contributions during their time with the organization. The club has also recently signed three new players, Kay, aporico, and Chicken, while retaining star players Osal and Noldbu. The team’s primary objective this year is to achieve success in international events.
Favian and Forest are well-known figures in the PUBG Mobile scene, having competed together for various organizations over the past four years. Their partnership with Dplus KIA resulted in the team winning several major tournaments during their two-year tenure.
In their debut event under the Dplus KIA banner, the squad secured first place in the PMGC League East. However, they faced challenges in the Grand Finals, finishing 11th. In 2022, Dplus KIA showcased their dominance in regional competitions, winning five official tournaments, including the PUBG Mobile Rivals Cup Korea vs Japan. They also achieved fifth place in the PMWI Main Event but struggled in the PMGC 2022, ranking 20th.
In 2023, Dplus KIA had an impressive run, achieving podium finishes in seven official events and securing second place in the PMWI Allstars. They emerged victorious in the PUBG Mobile Rival Cup and showcased their supremacy in the BGMI Invitational event in India. However, their performance in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship fell short, resulting in a 29th place finish.
With the departure of Favian and Forest, Dplus KIA aims to regroup and start the 2024 season on a high note, focusing on achieving success in international competitions.
