Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, is gearing up to launch a new cruiser motorcycle called the Maverick 440. This motorcycle is a result of the collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson, and it has been spotted on test rides ahead of its official launch.

Rumored to be unveiled at Hero World 2024, the Maverick 440 will feature a different design treatment compared to its counterpart, the Harley-Davidson X440. The test mule reveals some key details about the motorcycle’s styling and features. The circular headlamp is equipped with the signature H-shaped DRL unit and LED lights, accompanied by clear lens turn indicators. The Maverick 440 also boasts a wide one-piece handlebar, bar-end mirrors, and small tank extensions that add a touch of aggression to its neo-retro cruiser look.

In terms of suspension, the bike will feature a conventional telescopic fork setup and different alloy wheels, distinguishing it from the X440. The riding stance is expected to be more upright, appealing to a wider range of buyers in the market.

Under the hood, this bike will be powered by the same 440cc single-pot liquid-cooled engine found in the X440. However, it may receive a slightly different state of tune to match its unique character. The X440’s engine delivers 27 bhp of maximum power and 38 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch.

On the feature front, the Maverick 440 is likely to sport a single-pod TFT console or a semi-digital display to keep costs in check. As for the pricing, Hero MotoCorp is expected to position this bike in the sub-2 lakh ex-showroom range.

Once launched, the Maverick 440 will compete against popular models such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and the Harley-Davidson X440.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Hero MotoCorp Maverick 440 as its launch date approaches.
