The Kia EV9, set to be Kia’s flagship electric vehicle for the Indian market, is highly anticipated by car enthusiasts. The launch of the EV9 is expected to take place in the second half of 2024. Pricing for the Kia EV9 is expected to range between Rs. 90.00 Lakh – Rs. 1.20 Crore, depending on the selected variant. The EV9 will be offered in one fully loaded top-spec model, ensuring that customers have access to a comprehensive range of features.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Kia EV9 showcases a boxy silhouette, accentuated by massive wheel arches and flush door handles. The front fascia features a digital tiger nose grille, inverted Z-shaped LED DRLs, and an elongated bonnet with a flat grille. At the rear, the EV9 boasts sleek vertically stacked LED taillamps.
Inside the cabin, the EV9 offers a modern and spacious environment. The dual-panel dashboard houses both the infotainment and instrument cluster screens. The centre console between the front seats is equipped with cup holders, a wireless charging pad, control switches, and a storage compartment. The middle row features captain seats, and all three rows can be folded flat to create ample cargo space.
The Kia EV9 will be built on the E-GMP electric platform, offering both 2WD and 4WD variants. The India-spec version is expected to have a range between 400-500km. Charging the EV9 from 0-80% can be achieved in under 30 minutes using a 350kWh charger.
While the safety ratings for the EV9 have not been tested yet, Kia is known for prioritizing safety in its vehicles. As of now, the EV9 does not have any direct rivals in the Indian market.
