Madhya Pradesh assembly election Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has attributed his party’s impressive victory in the assembly election to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “double engine government” and the implementation of various beneficial initiatives, such as the Ladli Scheme. According to the leads, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 163 seats, while the Congress has managed to win 64 out of the 230-member assembly.
In addition to Madhya Pradesh, the BJP has also emerged victorious in the states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, which were previously held by the Congress. Chouhan expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the hearts of the people of Madhya Pradesh. The work done by the double-engine government, whether at the Centre or the state level, including the successful implementation of the Ladli scheme, has significantly contributed to uplifting the lives of the people. We have all put in tremendous efforts together.”
Chouhan further emphasized that he did not witness any anti-incumbency sentiments among the people and that they were pro-incumbency. He acknowledged that a few members of the Congress party attempted to mislead the public, but the people ultimately placed their trust in the BJP. When asked about whether he would assume the role of Chief Minister for the fifth time, Chouhan stated, “Decisions regarding such matters are not made by me alone. The party decides our roles.”. The assembly election in Madhya Pradesh took place on November 17, with a remarkable voter turnout of 77.82 percent, surpassing the voting percentage recorded in 2018, which was 75.63 percent. A total of 2,533 candidates contested in the 230 constituencies, with approximately 5.59 lakh eligible voters exercising their right to vote.
