The Grind: Qualifying Event for BGIS 2024

The Grind, a qualifying event for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024, is set to kick off on April 4th. This highly anticipated tournament will feature a total of 256 invited teams, all vying for a spot in the main event of BGIS. With a massive prize pool of ₹2 crore, the stakes are high for these teams.

The Grind has been a crucial part of the BGIS series, preceding the previous two editions. It serves as a platform for experienced and well-known teams from India to showcase their skills and compete against each other. Additionally, Krafton has opened registration for underdog teams, providing them with an opportunity to participate from the initial stages of BGIS 2024.

The format of The Grind is as follows: for the first two weeks, 256 teams will be randomly seeded into 16 groups. In week 1, eight groups will compete in three matches each, followed by the remaining eight groups in week 2. Based on their rankings in the first two weeks, the teams will be divided into 16 groups for the last two weeks of the contest. Each team will then play three matches, similar to the initial two weeks.

Here is the schedule for The Grind:
– Week 1: April 4th to 7th
– Week 2: April 11th to 14th
– Week 3: April 18th to 21st
– Week 4: April 25th to 28th

The overall standings of The Grind will be determined by the points accumulated over the four weeks. The top 16 teams will secure direct slots in the fourth round of the India Series 2024. Teams ranked 17th to 32nd will move on to the third round, while the 33rd to 64th ranked teams will progress to the second round.

Fans can catch all the action of The Grind live on the YouTube channel of Krafton Exports India at 3:30 pm. Each day, six matches will be contested in battle royale mode, featuring four BGMI maps: Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar, and Vikendi. The tournament will follow a 10-point scoring structure.

While the list of participating teams in The Grind has not been disclosed by Krafton, it is expected that well-known organizations such as Global Esports, Soul, Godlike, Orangutan, and others will be competing in this exciting contest.
