KTM AG Acquires Majority Stake in MV Agusta
Pierer Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM AG, has recently announced the acquisition of a 50.1 percent stake in MV Agusta Motorcycles, a renowned Italian manufacturer. This acquisition gives the Austrian company a controlling stake in MV Agusta, further strengthening their position in the industry.
Expansion of Industrial Management
Initially, KTM AG had acquired a 25.1 percent stake in MV Agusta in November 2022 as part of a capital increase. In October 2023, KTM AG took over the purchasing and supply chain of the Varese-based company. Furthermore, KTM AG will now also handle the distribution of MV Agusta’s motorcycles through its existing channels.
Plans for Increased Production
With the majority stake in MV Agusta, KTM AG will assume the industrial management of the company. There are also plans to expand the production capacity at MV Agusta’s Varese factory to over 10,000 units. This move aims to meet the growing demand for MV Agusta motorcycles and further establish the brand’s presence in the market.
MV Agusta is known for its beautifully-styled motorcycles, including the F3, F4, and Brutale models, which have captivated enthusiasts worldwide. While the company has faced financial challenges in the past, the ownership by Pierer Mobility AG brings new opportunities and a fresh direction for MV Agusta. Motorcycle enthusiasts eagerly await the next chapter in the MV Agusta story under the guidance of KTM AG.
