MG Motor is gearing up to launch the facelift version of its flagship SUV, the MG Gloster. Following the success of the updated Hector and Hector Plus, the company is now focusing on refreshing its premium offering. The facelifted Gloster will continue to compete with popular SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq in the large SUV segment.

One of the significant changes in the MG Gloster facelift will be its larger dimensions. The SUV is essentially a rebadged version of the Maxus D90 or LDV D90 sold in international markets. Spy shots of the upcoming Gloster facelift suggest that it will borrow design cues from the new LDV D90 showcased by MG Motor’s parent company SIAC for markets like Australia and New Zealand.

In terms of dimensions, the Gloster facelift will measure 5,214 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width, and 1,876 mm in height. Compared to the existing model, this represents a substantial increase in size. The longer and wider stance will give the Gloster facelift a more dominating road presence, surpassing even the Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq in length.

While the wheelbase remains the same at 2,950 mm, the added bodywork at the front and rear will result in more spacious interiors and a larger boot. The refreshed front fascia will feature updated lighting, grille, and bumpers, giving the Gloster facelift a more contemporary look.

Inside the cabin, users can expect a redesigned dashboard, a new touchscreen infotainment system, and an updated center console. The gear selector has been shifted behind the steering wheel, and the center console now includes rotary dials for drive modes and 4×4 mode selection. Customizable interior themes may also be offered with the Gloster facelift.

Under the hood, the facelifted Gloster will retain the same engine options as the current model. Customers can choose between a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine generating 161 PS of power and 373.5 Nm of torque in a 2WD format, or a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque in a 4WD format. Both engines will be paired with an 8-speed torque converter gearbox and offer various drive and terrain modes.

With its larger dimensions, refreshed interiors, and updated features, the MG Gloster facelift is set to make a statement in the large SUV segment.
