The Ather Rizta, an upcoming electric scooter from Ather Energy, has been spotted testing once again. Despite heavy camouflage, spy shots have revealed significant details about its design and bodywork. Compared to the current 450X lineup, the Ather Rizta appears larger and more proportionate. Emphasizing practicality and usability, the Rizta boasts a larger floorboard area and a longer seat.

The scooter’s design leans towards a conservative aesthetic, likely to appeal to a slightly mature audience. In the latest images, the Rizta is seen undergoing load testing with a rider, pillion, and additional weight in the form of luggage. This indicates that Ather has designed the Rizta to handle real-world scenarios, where riders often carry additional weight.

While specific performance figures are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that Ather will introduce a new battery and motor setup for the Rizta. This setup aims to provide an improved range and decent highway speeds compared to the current 450X scooters. Additionally, the Ather Rizta is expected to come loaded with features such as full LED illumination, a fully digital screen, ride modes, smartphone connectivity, and fast charging capabilities.

Ather Energy plans to equip the Rizta with telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear, ensuring a comfortable riding experience. The braking hardware will consist of front and rear disc brakes mounted on 12-inch wheels. The brand has announced that the Ather Rizta is set to launch in mid-2024, with an official announcement expected around June this year.

In terms of pricing, Ather is likely to position the Rizta in the range of Rs. 1.25 – Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). This places it as a competitor to the TVS iQube range. With its promising features and focus on practicality, the Ather Rizta aims to be a compelling option in the family electric scooter segment.
