The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has recently served a notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi minister Atishi, requesting information on the allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been attempting to poach AAP MLAs.

In response to the notice, Arvind Kejriwal took a swipe at the BJP, stating that he will not bow down to their pressure. During the inauguration of a school building in Delhi’s Rohini, he mentioned that the BJP’s requests to join their party will not be entertained. He questioned the need for him and his party to be pardoned, as they have been focused on improving schools, hospitals, clinics, and roads in Delhi.

The notice served by the Crime Branch to Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday requires him to respond within three days regarding his claims that the BJP tried to poach seven AAP MLAs. Atishi received the notice today. Both leaders had previously alleged that the BJP offered ₹25 crore each and a ticket to contest the upcoming assembly election to the AAP MLAs.

The BJP has refuted these allegations, deeming them as false and baseless. They have challenged the Chief Minister to provide evidence to support his claims. The police have also reached out to senior AAP leaders to assist in identifying the MLAs who were approached by the BJP.

The notice from the Crime Branch states that an inquiry is being conducted based on the complaint received regarding the allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal. It requests him and Atishi to provide answers to the enclosed questionnaire by February 5, as their statements suggest they have information related to a possible cognizable offense.

The investigation into these allegations will shed light on the ongoing political tensions between the AAP and the BJP in Delhi.
