Hyundai recently showcased its Nexo hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024 in India. While this marks the Nexo’s third appearance in the country, it is unlikely to be launched here due to limited demand and infrastructure. However, the Nexo provides a glimpse into Hyundai’s vision for the future of alternative fuel vehicles.
The Nexo is powered by a 95kWh battery pack that utilizes hydrogen to generate electricity, which in turn powers an electric motor producing 161bhp/395Nm. With a 0-100kmph time of 9.2 seconds and a top speed of 179kmph, the Nexo offers impressive performance.
In terms of design, the Nexo showcases Hyundai’s signature style with its large LED light bars, flared wheel arches, low-set headlamps, and unique triangular taillamps. The car measures 4.67 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.7 meters.
The displayed model at the show is fully loaded with features like a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, leatherette upholstery, dual digital displays, and connected car technology. These features highlight Hyundai’s commitment to providing advanced technology and convenience to its customers.
While the official Hyundai Nexo price in India has not been revealed yet, considering the launch price of the same car in the USA, it is expected to be around 65 lakh.
Although the Nexo may not be available in India in the near future, its presence at the Bharat Mobility Show underscores Hyundai’s dedication to exploring alternate fuel options and shaping the future of the automotive industry.
